Software Freedom Day 2022!!

Software Freedom Day is an event held all across the world to celebrate the usage of Free and Open Source Software. The event aims to sensitize students about the virtues of Open Source Software. Each year the event has seen growing number of participants and our past speakers have come from prestigious software companies like Facebook, Microsoft and Google. The aim of SFD is to bring together developers and students of all levels on a single platform to share their thoughts, ideas and inspirations. This year, Programming Club of UIET brings to you the 12th Edition of Software Freedom Day on September 17, 2022 & September 18, 2022.

Karan Balkar
Karan Balkar is a mobile application developer primarily working on Android for the past 5 years. He has also worked on Augmented reality / Virtual reality based mobile applications and is passionate about exploring innovative technologies. He also writes a blog named, Threads of Life.
Umang Kalra
Umang Kalra
Now I’d like to welcome Umang Kalra. He is a graduate from IIIT Pune, and the founder, CEO of Octaflyte. Apart from being a Microsoft Imagine Cup '22 National pre-finalist, he also works towards developing scalable GIS applications. He has also worked with Godot Engine for GSoC '21.

Sandeep Singh
Sandeep Singh is an Open Source enthusiast who writes code out of the profession and loves to engage in tech communities out of passion. He is also an events manager at Koii and was previously part of various communities like Commudle, CodeAsylums, Merge Intern.
Kartik Ohri
Kartik Ohri
Kartik Ohri is a software developer and ListenBrainz lead. He has experience of participating in the Open Source community since 2017. He is also a graduate from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Kartik also has the experience of mentoring students during GSoC.

Software Freedom Day is organized by Programming Club UIET or PCIub for short - is a student-driven society that aims at educating students and to spread selfless knowledge of various domains of Computer Science, organizes hackathons, and celebrate Open-Source. It's more of a community. We teach, we learn and we grow, together.
